ledge the receipt of your letter of the 2nd instant

on the subject of the above, named Tramways, and in reply to state for the infor ation of Mr Scoretury

Chamberlain that there is no objection on their part to the interview sought by the adviser of the Eastern Extension Australia and China Telegraph Company with the Board's Electrical Advises, Mr Wilkin. son will doubtless put himself in communication with Mr Trotter (whose office is at 8 Richmond Terrace, Whitehall) for the purpose of arranging such interview, I am at the same time to forward, in compliance with the request made in your letter of the 12th ultimo, copies of further Memoranda by Colonel Yorke and Mr Trotter on certain matters on which advice has been sought by the Hong Kong Government, together with a Memorandum by Mr Trotter on the Specifications and Drawings supplied in respect of the Tramways in question,

I am to add that the Board do not propose to ask for any fee in payment for such services as their Officers have been able to render in this matter.
